The Childhood Asthma Management Program (CAMP) was a 5 year
randomized, placebo-controlled trial of the safety and efficacy
of two inhaled anti-inflammatory therapies for children with mild
to moderate asthma.
The CAMP Continuation Study (CAMPCS) was a 4.5 year observational follow-up
study of the children enrolled in the Childhood Asthma
Management Program to complete the assessment of the effects of
long term treatment early in childhood on asthma outcomes and
physical growth and development.
The CAMP Continuation Study/Phase 2 (CAMPCS/2) extends the
observational follow-up of the CAMP participants for an
additional 3.5 years to investigate the natural history of
asthma into young adulthood.
The CAMP Continuation Study/Phase 3 (CAMPCS/3) extends the
observational follow-up of the CAMP participants for an
additional 3.5 years to study the determinants of lung growth
and progression of obstruction due to persistent childhood
asthma.
